Raise a concern

If you are concerned that somebody may be experiencing abuse or neglect, use this section to find out how you can report your concerns.

Concerns about an adult

If you are concerned about an adult with care and support needs, who is experiencing, or at risk of, abuse or neglect, the best way to report your concerns is to make a safeguarding referral.

Concerns about a child

If you are concerned about the welfare of a child, or you think a child is being harmed, abused or neglected, the best way to report your concerns is to make a safeguarding referral.

Concerns about services

If you think someone who lives in a care home or uses a domiciliary agency is at risk of harm, please make a safeguarding referral.

Reporting modern slavery

If you are concerned about human trafficking, forced and compulsory labour and domestic servitude, you can report suspected cases of modern slavery.

Preventing radicalisation into violent extremism

To safeguard vulnerable people from being radicalised, a referral can be made into the West Sussex Prevent process.

Whistleblowing

Whistleblowing is the raising of a concern, either within the workplace or externally, about a danger, risk, malpractice or wrongdoing, which affects others.
