Additional learning resources

On this page you can find additional learning resources, which include resources from other organisations or Safeguarding Adults Boards.

National Safeguarding Analysis Project resources

The National Safeguarding Adult Review (SAR) Analysis Project has developed various briefings intended for a range of audiences. The briefings have incorporated the research findings by examining published SARs, and identifying the learning required.

Pan Sussex Shared Learning from Sussex Safeguarding Adult Reviews

A number of similar themes are identified in Safeguarding Adult Reviews that are undertaken. The three Sussex Safeguarding Adult Boards have worked together to produce a 12-minute podcast that identifies four shared themes from Reviews undertaken across Sussex as well as some of the actions that have been undertaken in response.

These four themes are Mental Capacity, Making Safeguarding Personal, application of safeguarding processes, and multi-agency information sharing and communication.

You can watch and listen to the podcast (opens in a new window) on the Brighton & Hove Safeguarding Adults Board YouTube channel.

Learning from West Sussex Reviews

The West Sussex Safeguarding Children’s Partnership (WSSCP), West Sussex Safeguarding Adults Board (WSSAB), and West Sussex County Council’s Community Safety & Wellbeing have created a 15-minute voice-recorded presentation about learning from West Sussex Reviews.

This presentation is a learning aid for all staff across our partnerships and provides:

  • an overview of what Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPRs), Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs) and Domestic Homicide Reviews (DHRs) are
  • details of the four common themes across our Reviews
  • questions staff can ask themselves related to the themes, to review and reflect on their practice
  • information on resources available
  • our contact details

By using this presentation, staff will be able to understand similarities across our Review findings and reflect on how their practice can be adjusted to minimise future risk for children and adults in West Sussex.
